When Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ hath cut off³⁷⁷² the nations,¹⁴⁷¹ whose land⁷⁷⁶ Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee, and thou succeedest³⁴²³ them, and dwellest³⁴²⁷ in their cities,⁵⁸⁹² and in their houses;¹⁰⁰⁴

Thou shalt separate⁹¹⁴ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ cities⁵⁸⁹² for thee in the midst⁸⁴³² of thy land,⁷⁷⁶ which Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee to possess³⁴²³ it.

Thou shalt prepare³⁵⁵⁹ thee a way,¹⁸⁷⁰ and divide the coasts¹³⁶⁶ of thy land,⁷⁷⁶ which Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ giveth thee to inherit,⁵¹⁵⁷ into three parts,⁸⁰²⁷ that every slayer⁷⁵²³ may flee⁵¹²⁷ thither.

And this is the case¹⁶⁹⁷ of the slayer,⁷⁵²³ which shall flee⁵¹²⁷ thither, that he may live:²⁴²⁵ Whoso killeth⁵²²¹ his neighbour⁷⁴⁵³ ignorantly,¹⁰⁹⁷ whom he hated⁸¹³⁰ not in time past;⁸⁵⁴³

As when a man goeth⁹³⁵ into the wood³²⁹³ with his neighbour⁷⁴⁵³ to hew²⁴⁰⁴ wood,⁶⁰⁸⁶ and his hand³⁰²⁷ fetcheth a stroke⁵⁰⁸⁰ with the axe¹⁶³¹ to cut down³⁷⁷² the tree,⁶⁰⁸⁶ and the head¹²⁷⁰ slippeth⁵³⁹⁴ from the helve,⁶⁰⁸⁶ and lighteth upon⁴⁶⁷² his neighbour,⁷⁴⁵³ that he die;⁴¹⁹¹ he shall flee⁵¹²⁷ unto one²⁵⁹ of those cities,⁵⁸⁹² and live:²⁴²⁵

Lest the avenger¹³⁵⁰ of the blood¹⁸¹⁸ pursue⁷²⁹¹ the slayer,⁷⁵²³ while³⁵⁸⁸ his heart³⁸²⁴ is hot,³¹⁷⁹ and overtake⁵³⁸¹ him, because the way¹⁸⁷⁰ is long,⁷²³⁵ and slay⁵²²¹ him;⁵³¹⁵ whereas he was not worthy⁴⁹⁴¹ of death,⁴¹⁹⁴ inasmuch as³⁵⁸⁸ he hated⁸¹³⁰ him not in time past.⁸⁵⁴³

Wherefore I command⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Thou shalt separate⁹¹⁴ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ cities⁵⁸⁹² for thee.

And if Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ enlarge⁷³³⁷ thy coast,¹³⁶⁶ as he hath sworn⁷⁶⁵⁰ unto thy fathers,¹ and give⁵⁴¹⁴ thee all the land⁷⁷⁶ which he promised¹⁶⁹⁶ to give⁵⁴¹⁴ unto thy fathers;¹

If thou shalt keep⁸¹⁰⁴ all these commandments⁴⁶⁸⁷ to do⁶²¹³ them, which I command⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee this day,³¹¹⁷ to love¹⁵⁷ Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim,⁴³⁰ and to walk³²¹² ever³⁶⁰⁵ in his ways;¹⁸⁷⁰ then shalt thou add³²⁵⁴ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ cities⁵⁸⁹² more for thee, beside these three:⁷⁹⁶⁹

That innocent⁵³⁵⁵ blood¹⁸¹⁸ be not shed⁸²¹⁰ in⁷¹³⁰ thy land,⁷⁷⁶ which Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee for an inheritance,⁵¹⁵⁹ and so blood¹⁸¹⁸ be upon thee.

But if any man³⁷⁶ hate⁸¹³⁰ his neighbour,⁷⁴⁵³ and lie in wait⁶⁹³ for him, and rise up⁶⁹⁶⁵ against him, and smite⁵²²¹ him mortally⁵³¹⁵ that he die,⁴¹⁹¹ and fleeth⁵¹²⁷ into one²⁵⁹ of these⁴¹¹ cities:⁵⁸⁹²

Then the elders²²⁰⁵ of his city⁵⁸⁹² shall send⁷⁹⁷¹ and fetch³⁹⁴⁷ him thence, and deliver⁵⁴¹⁴ him into the hand³⁰²⁷ of the avenger¹³⁵⁰ of blood,¹⁸¹⁸ that he may die.⁴¹⁹¹

Thine eye⁵⁸⁶⁹ shall not pity²³⁴⁷ him, but thou shalt put away¹¹⁹⁷ the guilt of innocent⁵³⁵⁵ blood¹⁸¹⁸ from Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ that it may go well²⁸⁹⁵ with thee.

Thou shalt not remove⁵²⁵³ thy neighbour's⁷⁴⁵³ landmark,¹³⁶⁶ which they of old time⁷²²³ have set¹³⁷⁹ in thine inheritance,⁵¹⁵⁹ which thou shalt inherit⁵¹⁵⁷ in the land⁷⁷⁶ that Yahweh³⁰⁶⁸ thy Elohim⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee to possess³⁴²³ it.

One²⁵⁹ witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ shall not rise up⁶⁹⁶⁵ against a man³⁷⁶ for any iniquity,⁵⁷⁷¹ or for any sin,²⁴⁰³ in any sin²³⁹⁹ that he sinneth:²³⁹⁸ at the mouth⁶³¹⁰ of two⁸¹⁴⁷ witnesses,⁵⁷⁰⁷ or at the mouth⁶³¹⁰ of three⁷⁹⁶⁹ witnesses,⁵⁷⁰⁷ shall the matter¹⁶⁹⁷ be established.⁶⁹⁶⁵

If a false²⁵⁵⁵ witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ rise up⁶⁹⁶⁵ against any man³⁷⁶ to testify⁶⁰³⁰ against him that which is wrong;⁵⁶²⁷

Then both⁸¹⁴⁷ the men,⁵⁸² between whom the controversy⁷³⁷⁹ is, shall stand⁵⁹⁷⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Yahweh,³⁰⁶⁸ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the priests³⁵⁴⁸ and the judges,⁸¹⁹⁹ which shall be in those days;³¹¹⁷

And the judges⁸¹⁹⁹ shall make diligent³¹⁹⁰ inquisition:¹⁸⁷⁵ and, behold, if the witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ be a false⁸²⁶⁷ witness,⁵⁷⁰⁷ and hath testified⁶⁰³⁰ falsely⁸²⁶⁷ against his brother;²⁵¹

Then shall ye do⁶²¹³ unto him, as he had thought²¹⁶¹ to have done⁶²¹³ unto his brother:²⁵¹ so shalt thou put the evil⁷⁴⁵¹ away¹¹⁹⁷ from among⁷¹³⁰ you.

And those which remain⁷⁶⁰⁴ shall hear,⁸⁰⁸⁵ and fear,³³⁷² and shall henceforth commit⁶²¹³ no more³²⁵⁴ any such¹⁶⁹⁷ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ among⁷¹³⁰ you.

And thine eye⁵⁸⁶⁹ shall not pity;²³⁴⁷ but life⁵³¹⁵ shall go for life,⁵³¹⁵ eye⁵⁸⁶⁹ for eye,⁵⁸⁶⁹ tooth⁸¹²⁷ for tooth,⁸¹²⁷ hand³⁰²⁷ for hand,³⁰²⁷ foot⁷²⁷² for foot.⁷²⁷²
